From ‘Batman’ to bowl games: Your guide to New Year’s Day TV

If you’ve enjoyed yourself on New Year’s Eve, it’s very likely you will be doing nothing on New Year’s Day. Can’t get up off the couch? Not to worry. Many distractions await you from dawn till dusk on TV, from marathons to parades to the annual bowl games.

“Twilight Zone” Marathon | 6 a.m.- Midnight., Syfy

It wouldn’t be New Year’s Day without a “Twilight Zone” extravaganza. Highlights include, at 8 p.m., “The Invaders,” which stars Agnes Moorhead as a rural woman who battles to repel two creatures from another planet. At 9 p.m., “Nightmare at 20,000 Feet” stars William Shatner as a salesman recovering from a breakdown — until he sees a creature on the wing of his plane.

“Batman” Marathon | 7 a.m.- 6 p.m., IFC

The incredibly silly, campy 1960s series is on a roll today, starring the late Adam West in the title role and Burt Ward as sidekick Robin. This show was all about the guest stars, many of whom gave landmark performances, including Cesar Romero as The Joker, Julie Newmar as Catwoman and Frank Gorshin as The Riddler.

“Doctor Who” Marathon | 8:25 a.m.- 8 p.m., BBC America

Diehard fans of the British series will have a field day with this retrospective, which culminates in a new original episode at 8 p.m. with Jodie Whittaker as the show’s first female lead.
